Wedgwood was founded in England in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood , who invented cream-colored ceramics and became famous when Queen Charlotte of England named it Queen's Ware. Since then, the company has produced a variety of popular series, including Jasperware, a distinctive light-colored ceramic , and has grown into one of the world's largest ceramic manufacturers. In 2009, the company celebrated its 250th anniversary, and its beautiful, high-quality ceramics and innovative designs are still loved around the world today.
This Waverly is a series with a sea theme, with a checkered band drawn with blue lines representing waves, and pink shells drawn on the points. Combined with the multiple gold lines, it creates a very elegant atmosphere. It was manufactured from 1988 to 1997, and is currently out of production, but it is still a very popular item.
