Royal Albert is a long-established brand founded in 1896 by father and son Thomas Wilde. The founder loved the British Royal Family so much that he named the brand "Albert" after Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, and their grandson, Prince Albert George. The year after the company was founded, it was commissioned to create a commemorative item for the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession to the throne, and in 1904 it was granted the title of "Royal". The company continues to be loved around the world as "the most British tableware used by the Royal Family."
This Petit Point series is characterized by its design based on the petit point motif, an embroidery technique developed in Vienna in the 18th century. Petit Point is French for "little needle," and as the name suggests, it is a technique of fine hand embroidery with over 120 stitches per square centimeter, and is said to have been a favorite of Marie Antoinette. The rose pattern is particularly adorable, making this a masterpiece that will leave you entranced. It is currently out of production, making it a rare item that is hard to come across.
