FINE BONE CHINA
Minton was founded in 1793 by copperplate engraver Thomas Minton. At the 1851 Great Exhibition in London, the brand was praised as "the most beautiful bone china in the world" and became a supplier to the British Royal Family. In particular, "Haddon Hall," designed with the motif of the tapestries of Haddon Hall Castle, became a bestseller. It was later absorbed by Royal Doulton in 1968, and came under the umbrella of Wedgwood in 2005. The brand has now been discontinued, so existing items are considered extremely valuable.
This Spring Bouquet series features a wavy design called the "Fife Shape". Spring flowers, including roses, are delicately painted, and the design is typical of Minton, evoking the coming of spring.
